These pages contain the information to apply for storage allocations on the national infrastructure managed by the NorStore project.
NorStore provides a national storage service. The project has been initiated by the Research Council of Norway (RCN) and is funded by the RCN and university partners NTNU and UiO. The resources are operated by the university partners. UNINETT Sigma is the coordinating partner. A main task of the NorStore project is to provide adequate storage services for research and education. More information about NorStore can be found here.
For each of the facilities in NorStore, the total available resources are divided into an RCN (or 'national') part and a university (or 'local') part. The university where a facility is located can therefore use a part of the resources for local/internal purposes. This local part is usually targeting research activity that is strategic to the university and that is not supported by public funding.
The applications for allocations are evaluated by a Resource Allocation Committee appointed by the RCN.
