NorStore call for projects (2010.1)

NorStore is a new infrastructure for hosting scientific data and is now available for general usage. National research communities that have a need to store, publish or manage large scientific data collections are encouraged to apply for access to the resources in the NorStore infrastructure.

Deadline for application is March 3, 2010 (for projects starting not sooner than April 1, 2010).

Projects that applied in 2009 for (pilot) access to NorStore, and whose access expires by March 31, 2010, must apply for an extension in case they would like to have prolonged access to the resources.

The on-line application procedure can be found on http://www.norstore.no/access/apply/

The next call for NorStore (2010.2) is scheduled to be published in July 2010, for projects starting not sooner than October 1, 2010.

In combination with NorStore call 2010.1, it is also possible to apply for time-allocations on the national High-Performance Computing resources of the Notur project http://www.notur.no/quotas/apply

In combination with NorStore call 2010.1, it is also possible to apply for an advanced user support project. Advanced support is typically used for enhancing the usability, performance and scalability of applications, but also targets applications from new user communities. It is possible to apply for advanced support in combination with applications for allocations on the Notur and NorStore resources, e.g., to prepare your scientific applications for the national compute and storage resources, enable your applications to be used in a compute/data grid environment, or for support for applications with complex data management/flow. Deadline for application is March 3, 2010. The call can be found on http://www.notur.no/support/advanced/
